What is the Dracameron?
A project to collect tales (in prose and verse) from the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) Kingdom of Drachenwald (although they need not have taken place here), so that we can share those tales now, while we cannot meet to share them in person, and hopefully, to serve as a permanent repository for our Kingdom, to say that we were here, and this is what we did, and here are those tales. The project began in Drachenwald's Principality of Insulae Draconis but has since been expanded to the whole Kingdom.
Tales of war, of arts, of joy, of sorrow, of love, of friendship and family, of great deeds and amusing occurrences. Tales of travel, tales of feasts, tales of exceptional events. Tales of people - and animals. Tales of kindness, and courtesy, and courage, and daring escapes (or not). Of the great deeds of our fighters. The tales of our foundation. Of A and S triumphs. Perhaps of those now in different kingdoms and missed. All of these and more may be found here.
The Dracameron is the idea of Lady Alessandra di Riario d'Aretino and is run by that good lady and Lady Cecily of Okynfirth, both of Insulae Draconis.
I have a tale (or a question, or both) for you, what should I do?
Please use the contact form at the side of the page, either directly by using it to submit a tale/ask your question, or to ask for the email address, which is probably a better way of sending tales (certainly if you need to send a file), but which we do not (hopefully understandably) want to post freely on the internet.
We take SCA stories and poems about or inspired by the SCA itself or your experiences within it, of any sort as long as they are PG-suitable. Submissions can fit our current themes or be of new and different ones (we are always willing to start a new theme). We also welcome submissions in any of the languages of our Kingdom, not just English. The only requirement is that you tell us the name (or names) you would like a tale published under when you send it, and that we have permission to publish it (including that if a tale involves the exploits of others, please ask their permission and if they wish their name to be disguised, do so).
